Choose to be chosen

February 17, 2016

How many times have we seen it? The Lord releasing His anointing, His power, mantles and commissions. How many times have we watched hands go up in the air in surrender, tears falling down the cheeks of Believers in awe? How many times have we seen hundreds move to the front as an act of faith to move into the divine destiny and purpose that God is calling them into?

Why is it then, that once the event is finished and these hundreds flock back to their homes and everyday lives, that the powerful word that God released over them once again becomes but a distant euphoria?

Tonight as I sat watching a message on YouTube I watched as hundreds literally ran to the front in order to be counted for what God is doing in these last days. I saw the familiar acts of surrender and hunger. I saw the genuine encounters with the Lord. I saw people fall under the anointing and literally felt the weight of what the Lord was releasing on His people… But it was then that this question arose in my spirit;

“Abba, I just don’t get it? How is it that there are always hundreds who come up when You call? They truly seem genuine and hungry to receive that which You have for them, but when we get out into the real world... where is everybody? What happens?”

The Lord responded with one word… “Obedience”.

Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. (James 2:17)

Church of God, it is time for us to be obedient. Many of us believe that we lack faith; however, it is not faith that we lack, but obedience.

You have heard the Word of the Lord. He has poured out anointing after anointing. He has borne with you as you have moved from meeting to meeting and event to event seeking a word, a new anointing or mantle. But now it is time for you to step out in obedience. How many times can the Lord commission you before you will take action? You cannot pray, sing or even cry your way into your purpose; there is one thing that will bring you into the call that God has placed over your life and that is OBEDIENCE.

Obedience requires YOU to do something. Look through the Bible and you will see that not one person stepped into the call of God for their lives without them continually moving in obedience to the Lord’s instructions. God covers the faith side when He gives you a word, commandment or call; but the works (obedience) is up to you.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17)

Faith comes by hearing. The moment God speaks (in whatever format He does) He also gives you the faith to carry out what He has said. The rest is up to you. God has called (and many times), but now YOU must choose to be chosen. To be chosen you must be one whose faith is accompanied by obedience.

Obedience doesn’t require you to know the whole picture or even to understand everything. It just requires you to obey. Obedience is never complicated, but yes it can be hard and that is why many of us choose not to obey. But it is a choice.

Jesus has already won every battle for us; both internal and external. He has given us back our free will and therefore when we disobey, it is because we choose to love this world more than our Father.

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. (1 John 2:15)

The path of obedience truly is narrow. Every Believer is being called to Sonship in these last days and every Believer is being called to take their place in the Army of the Lord; however, it is up to YOU to be chosen.

“Free will is a principle element of who God is, therefore He will never force anybody to love (obey) Him. You must choose if He is worth your very life. You must choose to be chosen.”
